WHAT TO BRING WHEN YOU COME TO CAMP
- Two sheets
- One blanket
- Towel
- Clothing: casual, formal, sports and cold-proof such as coats and sweaters according to the Arusha climate.
- Shoes: casual shoes, sports/training shoes, and slippers
- Soap, toothbrush and toothpaste
- Ironing brush.
- Other personal items you may need for daily use (e.g. personal medication, etc.)
- Health insurance (for those who have it)
- Passport (for those who have it)
- A bank card with online transaction capabilities
Important documents for passport and scholarship applications: Proof of Citizenship for participant and parent (birth certificate or birth affidavit), National ID card issued by NIDA, four recent photographs of the applicant with a light blue background
Original and Copies of educational certificates (for participant)
VARIOUS SERVICES AND FACILITIES IN THE CAMP
- Accommodation that has been pre-paid including a bed, mattress, net and pillow.
- Monthly allowance as per the guidelines of the credit board.
- Stationery allowance as per the guidelines of the credit board.
- Laptop
- Institutional cafeteria (participants will purchase their own food with the allowance provided by this funding)

ARRANGEMENTS FOR TRAVEL ABROAD AND TRAINING
Application period: will involve passport applications, as well as applications for admission and scholarships to various universities around the world.
Technical courses: computer fundamentals, introduction to programming in python and R, introduction to mathematics and statistics for data science, fundamentals of data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Final project: Participants will prepare and present innovative projects including examples of artificial intelligence solutions, validation and sustainable development as well as conclusion.
International professional certifications: participants will be prepared to take exams and obtain certificates issued by renowned internationally recognized institutions such as IBM, ISC and WS.
Travel and living abroad preparation courses: including social skills, communication, safety, money management, creativity, respecting the customs of other countries, health and patriotism, as well as preparation for international English exams.
HOW TO GET TO THE CAMP
A special knowledge camp (bootcamp) is located at the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology, located in the Tengeru area of Arusha. The main modes of transport to reach the camp include passenger buses, Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), and Arusha Airport.
