Position: Relationship Manager
The Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with existing and prospective customers. The successful candidate will identify business opportunities, understand customers' financial needs, promote appropriate banking products and services, and contribute to the growth and profitability of the bank.
The position requires strong communication, sales, analytical, negotiation, and relationship-management skills. The successful applicant should be able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with other departments and teams.
Key Responsibilities
The Relationship Manager may be responsible for:
- Understanding customers' financial requirements and recommending suitable banking products and services.
- Achieving agreed sales, revenue, deposit, lending, and portfolio growth targets.
- Preparing and following up on customer proposals and business opportunities.
- Monitoring customer accounts and ensuring excellent service delivery.
- Conducting customer visits and maintaining regular communication with clients.
- Supporting credit and lending processes by gathering relevant customer information and documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with the bank's policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring portfolio quality and identifying potential risks.
- Preparing relevant reports and providing updates on business development activities.
- Working closely with internal teams to resolve customer issues efficiently.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized institution. Professional qualifications in banking, finance, or a related discipline may be an added advantage.
Relevant experience in relationship management, banking, sales, credit, corporate banking, SME banking, or financial services will be highly valuable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of banking products, customer acquisition, portfolio management, and business development.
